Hello & Welcome!
I am excited to return to IWA team this year as your counselor. My focus is taking care of the social, emotional, and academic concerns within IWA's student body.
Are you experiencing friend issues? Are you worried about a fellow student? Are you or do you know someone who is being bullied at school or online? Do you have any mental health concerns, trouble in the classroom, feeling unorganized, or having difficulty on tests?
I can assist with all of the above (and much more!). My office is a confidential, safe, non-judgmental environment available to all students. The guidance department is located on the top floor of the Chapel building and my office is to the left when you enter.
**Mrs. Emma Goldberg is the college counselor and is also in charge of standardized testing. Please contact her for inquiries regarding either of those.
GOALS FOR THE FALL:
-Teach Freshman 101, the freshman guidance class
-I will be meeting with every freshman individually the first few months of school. This is to get to know them, get them more familiar with the services our Counseling Department offers, and make sure they are transitioning successfully.
-Planning Red Ribbon Week, which is at the end of October. This week promotes living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
-I'll be checking in with our new transfer students to make sure they're adjusting okay
-Serving as a co-moderator for Diversity Club
-Attending class level retreats
GOALS FOR THE SPRING:
-Teach Sophomore guidance
-Follow up with new and transitioning students regarding their acclimation to IWA
